Parent or Guardian Information

We may collect information from parents or guardians, including:

• Booking and scheduling information;

• Communications with Buzzy Bee English, including emails, messages, support requests, and social media messages; and

• Information voluntarily provided when contacting us through platforms such as WhatsApp, WeChat, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, or other communication channels.

 

If you contact us through a third-party communication or social media platform, your information may also be processed by that platform according to its own privacy policy and settings.

Student Information

For students, we generally collect limited information, including:

• Student name;

• Student age;

• Lesson schedule;

• Lesson attendance information;

• Lesson participation information;

• Homework files, assignments, worksheets, submitted work, or other learning materials voluntarily provided by the parent, guardian, or student; and

• Class-related notes, feedback, or progress comments used to support the student’s learning.

 

Lesson Recordings and Transcripts

Lessons are conducted through Zoom and are automatically recorded. Zoom may also generate lesson transcripts.

Lesson recordings and transcripts may include:

• Student and teacher audio;

• Student and teacher video;

• Screen sharing;

• Chat messages;

• Shared lesson content;

• Student participation during class; and

• Other information visible or shared during the lesson.

 

Zoom AI summaries are currently disabled by Buzzy Bee English.

Payment Information

Payments are processed securely through Stripe or other approved third-party payment processors.

Buzzy Bee English does not store credit card numbers, banking information, or full payment card details on its own servers. Payment information is processed and stored by Stripe or the applicable payment processor according to its own privacy and security practices.

2. Children’s Privacy and Parental Consent

Buzzy Bee English provides online English lessons for children and learners. We collect and process student information only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, or another person authorized to act on behalf of the student.

By booking a lesson, purchasing a lesson plan, creating or using a parent account if available, or allowing a student to participate in lessons, you confirm that:

• You are the student’s parent or legal guardian, or you are authorized to act on behalf of the student;

• You consent to the collection, use, storage, and processing of the student’s personal information as described in this Privacy Policy;

• You consent to the recording and transcription of lessons as described in this Privacy Policy; and

• You have reviewed and accepted our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy.

 

Parents and guardians may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child’s personal information. We will review and respond to these requests as required by applicable law.

 

Lesson recordings are created for internal quality control, teacher training, safety, complaint review, and dispute-resolution purposes. Lesson recordings are not routinely provided to parents, guardians, or students.

 

If a parent or guardian requests access to information contained in a lesson recording, Buzzy Bee English may respond in a reasonable manner, which may include reviewing the recording internally, confirming relevant information, providing a written summary, providing relevant excerpts where appropriate, or taking another appropriate action.

 

Buzzy Bee English may decline to provide a full recording, or may limit access to a recording, where disclosure could affect the privacy, safety, confidentiality, intellectual property, or rights of teachers, other students, parents, Buzzy Bee English, or others, or where the recording is needed for legal, safety, dispute resolution, teacher-performance, contractual, or legitimate business purposes.

 

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

• Provide and manage online English lessons;

• Schedule, reschedule, and administer classes;

• Identify the student and match the student with the correct schedule, teacher, and lesson plan;

• Communicate with parents and guardians about lessons, scheduling, payments, policy updates, support requests, and service-related matters;

• Send class reminders and lesson updates;

• Provide class feedback, homework, assignments, or progress-related communications;

• Process payments through approved third-party payment processors;

• Improve lesson quality, teaching methods, and customer support;

• Train teachers and support teacher development;

• Review lessons in the event of parent, guardian, student, or teacher complaints;

• Investigate safety, conduct, technical, payment, or service issues;

• Protect the rights, safety, and property of students, parents, teachers, administrators, and Buzzy Bee English;

• Enforce our Terms of Service, Refund Policy, and other policies; and

• Comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or administrative obligations.

4. Lesson Recordings, Transcripts, and Internal Review

Buzzy Bee English uses Zoom to conduct and record lessons. Lessons are automatically recorded, and Zoom may generate lesson transcripts.

Recordings and transcripts are used only for internal Buzzy Bee English purposes, including:

​

• Quality control;

• Teacher training;

• Teacher transition support, including when a student changes teachers;

• Complaint review;

• Safety and conduct review;

• Documentation of serious classroom issues;

• Review of issues that may require action involving a teacher, student, or parent; and

• Compliance, dispute resolution, and business record purposes.

 

Recordings and transcripts are not shared publicly and are not sold, rented, or used for advertising.

 

Access to lesson recordings is limited to authorized Buzzy Bee English owners, administrators, and teachers. Teachers may access recordings of their own classes. In some cases, an administrator may show a full recording or short clip from one teacher’s class to another teacher for internal training, teacher transition, quality control, or student support purposes.

 

Parents, guardians, and students are not permitted to record, screenshot, livestream, publish, distribute, or otherwise capture lessons without prior written permission from Buzzy Bee English.

5. Storage and Retention of Lesson Recordings

Ordinary Zoom lesson recordings are scheduled to be moved to Zoom trash after 30 days.

​

Recordings may remain recoverable in Zoom trash for a limited period depending on Zoom’s settings and retention practices.

​

Buzzy Bee English generally does not download lesson recordings. However, authorized administrators may download full recordings or short clips when necessary for:

​

• Teacher training;

• Teacher transition support;

• Complaint review;

• Safety or conduct review;

• Documentation of a serious classroom issue;

• Review of an issue that may result in action involving a teacher, including possible termination of a teacher contract;

• Review of a serious student-related issue to discuss with a parent or guardian; or

• Legal, compliance, dispute resolution, or legitimate business purposes.

 

Downloaded recordings or clips may be stored in Buzzy Bee English’s Microsoft OneDrive account and may sync to authorized administrators’ devices. Downloaded recordings or clips are retained only as long as necessary for the issue, training purpose, safety concern, dispute, legal obligation, or legitimate business purpose for which they were saved.

 

In some cases, a clip may become part of Buzzy Bee English’s regular internal teacher training materials. In that case, the clip may be retained for as long as it remains reasonably useful for training, unless deletion is required by applicable law or approved by Buzzy Bee English.

 

Because ordinary Zoom lesson recordings are generally scheduled to be moved to Zoom trash after 30 days, parents and guardians should submit any complaint, concern, or request for review involving a specific class within 25 days of the class date. This helps ensure that Buzzy Bee English has a reasonable opportunity to review the relevant class recording before it is deleted or becomes unavailable.

6. Homework, Assignments, and Learning Materials

Parents, guardians, or students may submit homework, assignments, worksheets, writing samples, images, files, or other learning materials to Buzzy Bee English.

 

We use these materials only to support the student’s learning, provide feedback, prepare lessons, assess progress, communicate with parents or guardians, and improve our services.

 

Parents and guardians should not submit sensitive personal information, unnecessary documents, or materials unrelated to the student’s lessons.

7. Communications

We may communicate with parents and guardians through email, phone, messaging apps, social media platforms, booking tools, website forms, or other contact methods provided to us.

 

These communications may include:

• Lesson scheduling and rescheduling;

• Class reminders;

• Payment and plan updates;

• Teacher updates;

• Homework, assignments, feedback, or progress information;

• Customer support;

• Policy updates;

• Service announcements; and

• Other service-related messages.

 

If you message us through third-party platforms such as WhatsApp, WeChat, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, or similar services, the message may remain in our inbox or message history on that platform, even if we do not separately save it. Those platforms may also process your information under their own privacy policies.

8. Marketing Communications

Buzzy Bee English may send parents and guardians marketing or promotional communications, including information about lesson plans, discounts, promotions, new services, seasonal offers, or updates about Buzzy Bee English.

• Our own booking and scheduling system.

Buzzy Bee English does not control the privacy practices of third-party platforms, payment processors, social media services, or communication tools.

Lesson recordings are generally scheduled to be moved to Zoom trash after 30 days, unless they are needed longer for training, teacher transition, complaint review, safety, dispute resolution, legal, compliance, or legitimate business purposes.

 

Downloaded recordings or clips stored in Microsoft OneDrive are retained only as long as necessary for the purpose for which they were downloaded. Some clips may be retained longer if they become part of regular internal teacher training materials.

 

Homework, assignments, feedback, communications, and related learning materials may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to support the student’s lessons, communicate with parents or guardians, maintain business records, resolve disputes, or comply with applicable law.

 

When personal information is no longer reasonably necessary, we will delete, de-identify, or securely retain it only as required for legal, administrative, or legitimate business purposes.

14. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, misuse, or destruction.

Access to lesson recordings and student information is limited to authorized persons who need access for teaching, administration, training, support, safety, complaint review, or business purposes.

Only authorized administrators may download Zoom recordings.

​

However, no method of internet transmission, cloud storage, email, video conferencing, or electronic communication is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

15. Parent and User Rights
