Refund Policy

This Refund Policy forms part of the Buzzy Bee English LLC (“Buzzy Bee English,” “we,” “our,” or the “School”) Terms of Service. By booking lessons, purchasing a lesson plan, making a payment, or participating in classes, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Refund Policy.

This Refund Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Parent Summary

Refunds may be available for unused future lessons if requested before the student’s fourth scheduled class begins. Completed lessons, late cancellations, no-shows, student-side technical issues, and lessons not rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice are counted as consumed lessons and are not refundable.

Discounted package rates are earned only when the required package level is completed. If a package is not completed and a refund is approved, consumed lessons will be recalculated based on the completed package level actually reached.

Refund requests should be submitted from the same email address used to book and pay for the lesson plan. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method where possible.

Submitting a refund request does not automatically cancel, pause, or reschedule future lessons unless Buzzy Bee English confirms otherwise in writing.

1. General Refund Rules

Refunds apply only to unused future lessons where permitted under this Refund Policy.

Completed, attended, consumed, missed, or forfeited lessons are non-refundable, except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly approved by Buzzy Bee English.

A lesson is considered completed or consumed if:

  • The student attends all or part of the lesson;

  • The student arrives late and attends part of the lesson;

  • The student does not attend the lesson and is marked as a no-show;

  • The lesson is canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice;

  • The student fails to attend because of technical issues on the student’s side; or

  • The lesson is otherwise considered completed under this Refund Policy or our Terms of Service.

Refunds are not provided for dissatisfaction with learning progress, changes in personal schedule, failure to use purchased lessons, or failure to complete a lesson plan within the validity period, except where otherwise stated in this Refund Policy or required by applicable law.

2. Lesson Plans and Prepaid Packages

Buzzy Bee English offers prepaid lesson plans. The current plans are:

  • Starter Plan: 4 classes, once per week, at USD 15 per class, for a total plan price of USD 60;

  • Growth Plan: 12 classes, once per week, at USD 13 per class, for a total plan price of USD 156; and

  • Fluency Plan: 36 classes, once per week, at USD 10 per class, for a total plan price of USD 360.

All prices are listed in United States dollars (USD) unless expressly stated otherwise.

Lesson plans are paid in advance and are not billed on a weekly recurring basis unless expressly stated at the time of purchase.

All lessons included in a purchased lesson plan must be completed within one year from the date of purchase, unless otherwise agreed by Buzzy Bee English in writing or required by applicable law.

3. Refund Requests During the First Three Classes

A parent or guardian may request cancellation of a lesson plan and a refund for unused future lessons before the student’s fourth scheduled class begins.

Refund requests made after the fourth scheduled class begins may be denied, except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly approved by Buzzy Bee English.

Approved refunds are calculated based on the number of lessons already attended, completed, consumed, missed, or forfeited, using the package-rate adjustment rules below.

4. Package-Rate Adjustment for Approved Refunds

Discounted lesson plan rates are earned only when the applicable package level is completed.

If a parent or guardian purchases a larger lesson plan to receive a lower per-class rate but later receives an approved refund before completing that package, Buzzy Bee English may recalculate the consumed lessons based on the completed package level actually reached.

This means the refund amount is calculated as follows:

Refund amount = Amount paid – adjusted cost of consumed lessons

For purposes of this policy:

  • If the student consumes fewer than 12 classes, the consumed lessons will be charged at the Starter Plan rate of USD 15 per class;

  • If the student consumes 12 to 35 classes, the consumed lessons will be charged at the Growth Plan rate of USD 13 per class; and

  • If the student consumes all 36 classes, the student has completed the Fluency Plan and the lessons are charged at the Fluency Plan rate of USD 10 per class.

 

For example, if a parent purchases the Growth Plan for USD 156 but the student consumes only 6 classes before an approved refund, the 6 consumed classes would be charged at USD 15 per class, for a consumed lesson cost of USD 90. The remaining refundable amount would be USD 66, subject to any applicable deductions under this Refund Policy.

If a parent purchases the Fluency Plan for USD 360 but the student consumes only 6 classes before an approved refund, the 6 consumed classes would be charged at USD 15 per class, for a consumed lesson cost of USD 90. The remaining refundable amount would be USD 270, subject to any applicable deductions under this Refund Policy.

If a parent purchases the Fluency Plan for USD 360 but the student consumes 12 classes before an approved refund, the 12 consumed classes would be charged at USD 13 per class, for a consumed lesson cost of USD 156. The remaining refundable amount would be USD 204, subject to any applicable deductions under this Refund Policy.

If a parent purchases the Fluency Plan and the student consumes all 36 classes, no refund is available because the full plan has been completed.

5. Student Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Late Changes

Parents or guardians may request to reschedule a lesson by informing Buzzy Bee English at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the class.

If a rescheduling request is made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time, Buzzy Bee English will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the lesson based on teacher availability.

Lessons canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice are considered completed and consumed. They are not eligible for refund, credit, or rescheduling, except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly approved by Buzzy Bee English.

This policy helps protect teacher preparation time and schedule stability.

6. Late Arrival and No-Shows

Parents and students are responsible for attending lessons on time.

If a student is late, the class will not be extended. The lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time.

If a student is late and the parent, guardian, or student does not contact Buzzy Bee English to let us know that the student will join late, the teacher may leave after waiting 15 minutes. In such cases, the full class will be considered completed and consumed.

If the student does not attend the lesson, the lesson is considered a no-show. No-shows are considered completed and consumed and are not eligible for refund, credit, or rescheduling.

7. Student-Side Technical Issues

Parents and students are responsible for ensuring that the student has:

  • Stable internet access;

  • A functioning device with camera and microphone;

  • Access to the video platform used for lessons; and

  • A quiet and suitable learning environment.

 

Lessons affected by technical issues on the student’s side, including internet problems, device issues, software problems, login issues, microphone or camera problems, or inability to access the lesson platform, are considered completed and consumed.

 

Student-side technical issues are not eligible for refund, credit, or free rescheduling, except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly approved by Buzzy Bee English.

 

8. Teacher Cancellations and Teacher-Side Technical Issues

If a teacher cancels a lesson, is significantly late, or is unable to deliver the lesson because of teacher-side technical issues, Buzzy Bee English will generally first offer a rescheduled lesson or lesson credit.

A refund may be offered if a rescheduled lesson or lesson credit is not practical or appropriate.

 

Where possible, Buzzy Bee English will first attempt to reschedule the affected lesson or provide a substitute teacher.

Teacher substitutions do not create an automatic right to a refund, provided the lesson is delivered as scheduled.

 

9. Serious Illness, Emergency, or Exceptional Circumstances

In cases of serious illness, family emergency, or other exceptional circumstances, Buzzy Bee English may, at its discretion, offer a temporary pause, rescheduling arrangement, lesson credit, or other accommodation.

Such accommodations are not guaranteed and are reviewed case by case.

Parents or guardians may be asked to provide reasonable information to help Buzzy Bee English review the request.

10. Lesson Recordings, Attendance Records, and Dispute Review

Buzzy Bee English may use lesson attendance records, booking records, communications, Zoom lesson recordings, transcripts, and related service records to review refund requests, cancellation disputes, attendance issues, no-shows, technical issues, parent or student complaints, teacher concerns, payment disputes, or chargebacks.

Lesson recordings and transcripts are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

 

11. Class Complaints and Refund-Related Review Period

Parents or guardians should submit any complaint, concern, or refund-related dispute involving a specific class within 25 days of the class date.

This review period is necessary because lesson recordings are generally scheduled to be moved to Zoom trash after 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy. Complaints or refund-related disputes submitted after 25 days may be more difficult or impossible to review using class footage.

Buzzy Bee English may still review late complaints or refund-related disputes based on available information, including attendance records, booking records, teacher notes, communications, transcripts, payment records, and other available records. However, Buzzy Bee English does not guarantee that class recordings will still be available after the 25-day review period.

12. Promotional Pricing, Discounts, and Special Offers

If a lesson plan is purchased using a discount, coupon, promotional price, or special offer, any approved refund will be calculated based on the actual amount paid, not the standard non-discounted price.

Promotional pricing, discounts, coupons, or special offers cannot be applied retroactively to previous purchases unless expressly approved by Buzzy Bee English in writing.

Promotional offers may have additional terms, limits, or expiration dates.

13. Non-Transferable Lesson Plans

Lesson plans, unused classes, credits, discounts, and promotional offers are for the enrolled student only.

They may not be transferred, assigned, shared, resold, gifted, or used by another student, family, or account without prior written approval from Buzzy Bee English.

14. Refund Requests and Refund Processing

Refund requests must be submitted to Buzzy Bee English at contact@buzzybeeenglish.com.

To help protect parents, students, and Buzzy Bee English from unauthorized refund requests, refund requests should be submitted from the same email address used to book and pay for the lesson plan.

Refund requests should include the parent or guardian’s name and the class reference number.

If a refund request is submitted from a different email address, Buzzy Bee English may require additional verification before reviewing or processing the request. Buzzy Bee English may deny or delay refund requests if we cannot reasonably verify that the person making the request is the parent, guardian, purchaser, or authorized account holder.

Submitting a refund request does not automatically cancel, pause, or reschedule future lessons. Parents and guardians remain responsible for canceling or rescheduling upcoming lessons according to this Refund Policy unless Buzzy Bee English confirms otherwise in writing.

Buzzy Bee English will make reasonable efforts to review refund requests promptly. Additional time may be needed if we must verify the requester’s identity, review attendance records, check lesson recordings or transcripts, or investigate a dispute.

Approved refunds are processed through Stripe or the applicable third-party payment processor and returned to the original payment method where possible. Buzzy Bee English does not issue refunds to a different card, bank account, payment method, person, or third-party account, except where required by applicable law or expressly approved by Buzzy Bee English.

Refund processing times are typically 5 to 10 business days after approval, but actual timing may depend on Stripe, the payment processor, the bank, the card issuer, or the payment method used.

Any non-refundable processing fees, currency conversion fees, bank fees, platform fees, or transaction fees charged by third-party payment providers may be deducted from the refund where permitted by applicable law.

Buzzy Bee English is not responsible for delays caused by banks, card issuers, payment processors, or third-party platforms.

15. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

We encourage parents and guardians to contact us directly at contact@buzzybeeenglish.com to resolve billing concerns before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute.

Unauthorized chargebacks, duplicate refund requests, or payment disputes initiated without first contacting Buzzy Bee English may result in suspension or termination of services.

If a chargeback or payment dispute is initiated, Buzzy Bee English may suspend access to lessons while the dispute is being reviewed or resolved.

Buzzy Bee English may provide booking records, attendance records, communications, payment records, lesson records, and relevant policy documents to Stripe, banks, card issuers, or other payment processors when responding to payment disputes or chargebacks.

16. Fair Use and Abuse Prevention

Buzzy Bee English reserves the right to deny refunds, suspend services, or terminate services in cases of:

  • Excessive last-minute cancellations;

  • Repeated no-shows;

  • Repeated late arrivals;

  • Attempts to refund completed, attended, consumed, missed, or forfeited lessons;

  • Misuse of discounts, promotions, credits, or lesson plans;

  • Fraudulent, abusive, dishonest, or manipulative behavior;

  • Chargeback abuse or payment disputes initiated without contacting us first;

  • Inappropriate conduct toward teachers, staff, students, or administrators; or

  • Violations of our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, or this Refund Policy.

 

17. Exceptions Required by Law

Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to limit any refund, cancellation, consumer protection, privacy, or other rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Where applicable law requires a refund, cancellation right, notice period, or other remedy, Buzzy Bee English will comply with such legal requirements.

18. Policy Acceptance

By booking a lesson, purchasing a lesson plan, making a payment, or participating in classes, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Refund Policy.

Parents and guardians should review this Refund Policy together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before purchasing a lesson plan.
